Sign in and sign out
Sign in with your email and password or another account, and sign out when you're done.
Sign in with your email and password
- Go to the sign-in page. From the home page, choose Sign in.
- Enter your Email and Password.
- If you’ve turned on two-factor authentication, choose I use two-factor authentication and enter a code in Two-factor code. See Two-factor authentication.
- Choose Sign in.
You land on your timeline, or back on the page you were trying to open.
Sign in with another account
If you signed up with another account, choose its button under the form, such as Continue with Google. The buttons you see depend on what’s available.
You can only sign in with a provider you signed up with. If you created your account with an email and password, use those, even if your Google account has the same address.
Sign out
- Select your initial in the top-right corner to open the account menu.
- Choose Sign out.
This signs you out of this browser. To sign out everywhere at once, change your password. See Your security settings.
If something goes wrong
- “That email and password don’t match.” Check for typos and that Caps Lock is off. If you use two-factor authentication, the code field opens for you. Enter a current code from your app, or a recovery code, and try again.
- Forgot your password? Choose Forgot password? on the sign-in page. See Reset your password.
- “That email already has an account. Sign in with your password instead.” Your account uses an email and password, not that provider. Sign in with your password.
- “That provider didn’t share an email address…” We need an email address to sign you in. Use a different option, or sign up with your email.
- “Too many attempts.” Wait a few minutes, then try again.
- “Your password was changed. Sign in again with the new one.” A password change signs you out everywhere. Sign in with the new password.
