Fixing colour and light comes with Nest and above. Your original never changes. Moving a slider updates the photo straight away; nothing is kept until you click Save.
White balance
Use White balance when a photo looks too yellow, too blue, too green or too pink.
- Temperature: slide left for cooler (bluer) and right for warmer (more yellow). As shot goes back to the colour the camera recorded.
- Tint: slide to remove a green or pink cast.
- Pick grey: click something in the photo that should be grey or white, such as a grey card or a white wall. We set temperature and tint so that spot has no colour cast.
- Auto: we guess a good balance from the whole photo. If you don’t like it, press Ctrl or ⌘ + Z.
If your browser can’t draw previews itself, Pick grey and Auto can’t be used, and slider changes show a moment after you let go. A message tells you when this happens. If you change sliders very fast, the preview may pause for a moment and keep the last picture; it catches up on your next change.
Light
- Exposure: brighter to the right, darker to the left.
- Contrast: more to the right, flatter to the left.
Double-click a slider to put it back to zero.
Compare with the original
Hold the Show the original button, or hold the backslash key (\), to see the photo before your changes. Let go to see your edit again.
Save
Click Save, or press Ctrl or ⌘ + S. See Undo, save and revert. If you click Save before changing anything, we ask you to adjust the photo first.
On Fledgling, the Edit button explains that editing needs a higher plan. See Compare plans.
