Create a family library

Make a shared library for your household.

A family library is separate from your personal library. Photos you add to one stay in that library.

What you need

Family libraries come with Flock and above. Plans lists what each plan includes.

If your plan doesn’t include family libraries, the dialog asks you to upgrade and names the cheapest plan that does.

Create one

  1. Open the library switcher and click New family library. (Switch libraries shows where it is.)
  2. Type a Name. It can be 1 to 80 characters, for example “Schiel family”.
  3. Click Create library.

Your new library opens right away, and you are its owner.

If it doesn’t work

  • If you already own as many family libraries as your plan allows, you’ll see You already own as many family libraries as your plan allows.
  • If the name is empty or too long, you’ll see Give the library a name of 1 to 80 characters.

Storage

A family library uses its owner’s storage. Its photos count against the owner’s plan, not anyone else’s. The sidebar says so too: under the storage bar, while a family library is open, you see “Uses Donna’s storage” (with the owner’s name). If the owner has no name set, it says “Uses the library owner’s storage”.
