Find your way around

The sidebar, the account menu and the storage meter, and what each one is for.

Once you’re signed in, the app has three landmarks: the sidebar on the left, the account menu in the top-right corner, and the storage meter under the sidebar.

The sidebar

The sidebar has two groups.

Library

  • Timeline — every photo and video in your library, newest first. This is where you land when you sign in.

Manage

  • Imports — upload from this device, or move a whole library over from Google Photos or Apple Photos.
  • Invites — invite links that let other people upload photos into your library.
  • From guests — photos guests have uploaded, waiting for your review. A number appears next to it when something is waiting.
  • Settings — language, security, and your plan and billing.

You’ll also see Albums, People, Places, Things, Favorites, Prints and Trash. These are still being built, so for now each one shows a short note about what it will do.

On a phone, the sidebar becomes a row of links under the top bar. Swipe it sideways to see them all.

The account menu

Your initial sits in a circle in the top-right corner. Select it to open the account menu:

  • Settings — the settings page.
  • Security — your password and two-factor authentication. See Your security settings.
  • Sign out — signs you out of this browser.

The storage meter

The Storage box under the sidebar shows how much space you’ve used out of your plan’s total. Select it to open Plan and billing. See Compare plans.

The email banner

Until you confirm your email address, a strip across the top of the app reminds you. It has a Resend email button if the first email went astray. See Confirm your email address.
