Invite guests to add photos

Create a personal invite for one person or an event link and QR code for everyone at a party.

An invite is a link that lets someone add photos to your library. Guests don’t need an account. Each guest confirms their email with a 6-digit code, then uploads. Everything they send waits in From guests until you accept it.

There are two kinds of invite:

  • Personal: one link for one person, sent to their email. Only that address can use it.
  • Event: one link and QR code for everyone at a wedding, party or trip. Anyone with the link can ask to add photos.

Create an invite

  1. In the sidebar, choose Invites.
  2. Choose New invite.
  3. Under Who is it for?, pick Personal or Event.
  4. For a personal invite, enter Their email.
  5. Give it a Title. It’s required for an event and optional for a personal invite. Guests see it on the upload page and in emails.
  6. Add a Message (optional). Guests see this on the upload page too.
  7. Under Link works for, choose how many days the link stays open.
  8. If you like, set Files per guest (optional). Leave it empty for no limit beyond your storage.
  9. For a personal invite, leave Email the link now ticked to send the link straight away, or untick it to send the link yourself.
  10. If you want accepted photos to go into an album, pick one under Album (optional). Type in Find an album to narrow the list, or choose New album… to make one now. With No album, photos go to your library only.
  11. Choose Create invite.

The next screen shows Your invite is ready with the link. Choose Copy link to share it any way you like.

We only show an invite link right after it’s made. Copy it now. If you need it again later, you can get a new link (see below).

Photos you accept from that invite are added to the end of the album. If you delete the album, photos accepted afterwards go to your library only. See Albums.

Guest uploads count toward your storage while they wait for review. Rejecting them frees the space again.

Share an event with a QR code

Event invites come with a QR code that guests scan with their phone camera. Put it on tables, a welcome sign or a slide.

  1. Right after you create the invite, the QR code appears under the link. Later, choose QR & print on the invite.
  2. Download it as PNG or SVG, or choose Print card for a ready card that says “Scan to add your photos”.

QR & print only appears while the current link is known on this page. If it’s missing, choose Get a new link first.

Keep track of an invite

Each invite on the Invites page shows its status (Active, Expired or Revoked), when it ends and how many files each guest may add. The counts below it show Guests, Uploads, To review, Accepted, Rejected and Size.

Choose View uploads to open From guests filtered to that invite.

When guests upload, we email you that there’s something to review. You get at most one email per invite each hour.

Change, extend or resend an invite

  • Edit: change the title, message, files per guest, or the date in Link works until, then choose Save changes. The date can be up to a year away.
  • Extend an expired invite: choose Edit on it and pick a later date in Link works until. The same link works again.
  • Resend email (personal invites): sends the person a fresh link. The link you had before stops working.

Choose Get a new link when you’ve lost the link, or when it has been shared more widely than you wanted.

  1. On the invite, choose Get a new link.
  2. Confirm with Get a new link.
  3. Copy the new link, or print the new QR code.

The old link and old QR code stop working straight away. Uploads already sent through them stay in From guests.

Close an invite

An invite closes on its own when its date passes. Guests who open it then see “This invite has ended”.

To close it early:

  1. On the invite, choose Revoke.
  2. Confirm with Revoke invite.

Guests can no longer open the link or upload. Photos already uploaded stay in From guests for you to review. Revoking can’t be undone; if you change your mind, create a new invite.

If something goes wrong

  • The person never got the email. Ask them to check spam. Then choose Resend email, or create the invite with Email the link now unticked and send the link yourself.
  • “This link isn’t available any more.” The link was only shown when it was made. Close the window and choose Get a new link.
  • A guest says the link doesn’t work. Check the invite is Active. If it’s Expired, extend it with Edit. If you got a new link since, send them the new one.
  • A personal invite guest gets no code. Only the address you invited can use a personal invite. Ask them to use that exact email.
