Albums

Make an album, add photos, put them in order, choose a cover and download it.

An album is a group of photos in an order you choose. A photo can be in as many albums as you like, and nothing is ever copied. It is still one photo in your library.

Find your albums

Choose Albums in the sidebar. Each album shows its cover and how many photos it holds. Albums made by your imports appear here too. If there are none yet, you’ll see No albums yet.

Make an album

  1. On the Albums page, click New album.
  2. Type an Album title and click Create album.

Two albums can share a title.

Add photos to an album

  1. On your timeline, select the photos you want.
  2. Click Add to album….
  3. Choose an album and click Add. In a long list, type in Find an album to narrow it down. To start a new one, choose New album…, type a title and click Create and add.

Photos go at the end of the album, in the order you picked them. You’ll see how many were added, and how many were already there. Use Open album to go and look.

Put the photos in order

Open the album and select one or more photos. Then use:

  • Move to start or Move to end.
  • Move left one or Move right one.

With a photo selected, you can also hold Alt and press the left or right arrow key to move it one place.

Choose the cover

Open the menu on a photo (Photo actions) and choose Set as cover. The cover is the picture the album shows on the Albums page, marked Cover in the album.

Take photos out of an album

Select the photos and click Remove from album. They leave that album only. They stay in your library and in every other album.

Rename or describe an album

Open the album and click Rename to change the title. Use Add description (later Edit description) to write a note. Leave the description empty to remove it.

Delete an album

Click Delete album, then Delete album again to confirm. Deleting an album never deletes photos. The photos stay in your library and on your timeline.

If a guest invite saves accepted photos into the album, the message says so. After you delete the album, photos accepted from that invite go to your library only.

Download an album

Click Download album. See Download photos. You only see it if you can download from this library.

Who can change albums

Everyone with access to a library can see and open its albums. Viewers and contributors can’t change them: they don’t see the buttons for making, ordering, renaming or deleting. Editors and owners can.

If something goes wrong

  • “Couldn’t load albums.” Check your connection, then click Try again.
  • “Something went wrong. Try again in a moment.” Wait a moment and repeat what you were doing.
